Communications Input
Communications - Expanding the spaces and resources of St Luke’s UMC will also mean bringing appropriate communications capabilities into those areas. Telephones, fire alarm, intrusion detection (security), emergency lighting, and energy management systems are expected standards with new construction. Additionally, multimedia capabilities will be incorporated in the design as appropriate. For example, being able to project services from the Sanctuary to overflow seating in the Fellowship Hall using drop-down large screens may be fitting for holidays or special events hosted at our church. Upgrading network components would permit high speed Internet access anywhere in the building, making it available for Sunday School classes and other groups that meet throughout the week. Actual communications wiring or conduits through which wiring could be run at a later time will be designed and installed with pull cables, making future wiring projects very easy to accomplish.
Some alteration of present spaces for the sanctuary sound system and network equipment will also be required in order to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of those items.
