We will have a called Church Conference on February 21st to vote on how to proceed from the recommendations of the Building Committee. We will have ONE worship service at 9:30, followed by the Called Church Conference
The Discipline requires the following:
The pastor, with the written consent of the district superintendent, shall call a church conference, giving not less than ten days’ notice of the meeting and the proposed action from the pulpit or in the weekly bulletin. At the church conference, the building committee shall present:
a) the preliminary architectural plans;
b) the preliminary cost estimate;
c) the preliminary financial plan; and
d) the building committee’s recommendation.
A majority vote of the membership present and voting at the church conference shall be required to approve the preliminary architectural plans, cost estimate, and financial plan and the building committee’s recommendation.
Please note that we are voting for “preliminary” plans, cost estimates and financial plans. If the
church votes to move forward with the
project, the building committee will then develop “detailed” plans for each of these, and these will need to be approved by a Charge
Conference. By Discipline, only members may vote, and ALL members get a vote. Also by Discipline, people need to be present to vote.
Parking will be an issue on that day, so please carpool whenever possible.
