Nursery Policies
We strive to make our Nursery a safe, clean and fun-loving place for your child while you worship. Please keep this in mind as you read the following policies:
When you bring your child to the Nursery you must provide a bag containing the following:
- A small snack with drink*
- Diaper changing items (at least 3 spare)
- A change of clothes with socks
- Any comfort item your child might need
*Should you forget a snack, your child will be given a ½ Styrofoam cup of snack (cereal or goldfish crackers) and 1 cup of water or juice. We do ask parents to provide a snack to better allocate Nursery funds.
*Easter Egg Production: If your child will be in the Nursery for most of the day, please provide a lunch to be eaten around 11:00am.
If your child is sick, DO NOT bring them to the Nursery. This includes your child having more than one loose stool in one hour, vomiting, fever, lethargy, or extreme/unusual irritability. Sever coughing or severe runny nose also constitutes your child as sick.
*Should your child become sick while in the care of the Nursery, a staff member will contact you via your pager so you can remove your child from the Nursery.
Nursery staff members do not administer medication of any kind, except parent provided diapering ointment.
When dropping off your child, a clean break is best. If you child is crying or upset when you drop them off, tell then you love them and you will be back, then exit the Nursery area. If your child is upset/crying for more than 15 minutes we will contact you with your pager.
In order to maintain a level of sanitation in the Nursery, parents and siblings are asked to remain on the tiled floor at the entrance of the Nursery.
Children will be divided into two groups based on age. Children ages 0-24 months will be cared for in the Infant Nursery, while children 24 months and older will be in the Toddler Nursery. When your child reaches the age of transition into the Toddler Nursery, you will be given two week advanced notice of the move.
Sign-In/Sign-Out
Each time your child stays in the Nursery you are required to sign the child in and out of the nursery through the Nursery logbook.
As part of this sign-in procedure you are required to take a pager. If you are not willing to take a pager your child will not be able to stay in the care of the Nursery.
When filling out the logbook you must include the following:
|

When you return to the Nursery to sign-out your child, turn off your pager and return it to the pager basket. Record the time the child was picked-up in the logbook.
Bathroom Use
Diapers will be checked regularly while your child is in the Nursery After your child’s diaper is changed they will wash their hands.
If your child is potty training and you would like your child to use the child-sized toilet, please let a Nursery staff member know of your request.
The small bathroom in the Nursery will be available for children 4 years of age and younger. Once a child is 5 years of age (Kindergarten), they will be taken to the adult restrooms located near the Fellowship Hall. The staff member will remain in the hallway while the child uses the bathroom and washes their hands.
For both child protective and sanitation reasons, staff members are not permitted to wipe a potty-trained child of any age.

The Nursery does not have a scheduled nap/quiet time. If you would like your child to take a nap please tell the staff member when you drop your child off. Should your child fall asleep while in the care of the Nursery they will be placed on sleeping equipment as listed below.
The Nursery will provide equipment for napping while children are in the Nursery. A sheeted crib and blanket will be provided for a child from birth – 18 months and older. A sheeted sleeping mat and blanket will be provided for a child 19 months and older.
